This is a critical, opinionated account of all of the significant, devastating or awesome encounters that have furnished my life with success, failure, laughter and sadness. Did I say happiness? No. I have been satisfied, joyful and on occasion blissful, but I don’t think I could say that I was ever truly happy. However, in the last few years, I found peace; I made peace with my enemies and left my family in peace.
I had a fascinating life. Yes, it was (and still is) interesting in many regards, and although I have learned a lot along the way, somehow it amounts to very little. I am not leaving great legacies, I have not discovered a cure for cancer nor did I manage to be the mother, the grandmother or the great-grandmother a child would want. Let’s say that my children tolerate me now. Their reproaches are endless, but so is their love.
